Corbett's Ilford: Grange, Downshall and Mayfield
Much of Ilford was built by one developer, Archibald Cameron Corbett. He started the Grange estate north of Ilford station in 1894, then the Downshall estate at Seven Kings and the Mayfield estate at Goodmayes from 1898. Corbett also pressed for a rebuilt Ilford station and new stations at Seven Kings and Goodmayes, and Seven Kings opened in 1899.
